Stack stimulus, incentives and tax refunds to make solar a reality

For homeowners who want to leverage the significant environmental benefit of solar energy but have been on the fence about installing a solar system, there may never be a better time than now according to solar developer, Sun Badger Solar.

The Solar Energy Industry Association reports that the cost to install solar has dropped by more than 70 percent in the past decade with prices in Q4 2020 at their lowest levels in history.

These lower prices, combined with the extension of federal and state tax credits, make the case for solar installation more attractive than ever. In fact, Congress recently extended a 26 percent tax credit through 2022. It will drop to 22 percent in 2023 before sunsetting altogether.

“Many of our customers are using their stimulus checks and tax refunds combined with the federal and state solar incentives to finally fund a solar installation that they’ve been considering for some time,” said Trevor Sumner, President & Co-Founder of Sun Badger Solar. “The confluence of all of these factors makes now the ideal time to go solar.”

While the stimulus payments, tax incentives and tax refunds may be the initial impetus to go solar, the real financial benefit comes with reduced utility bills over the long term. In many cases, the utility will actually credit you for power created in excess of what your home uses.

In addition to utility-based incentives, many solar installers are offering very attractive financing options. Sun Badger Solar just announced a zero-down .99% financing rate.
